NDAA-Compliant Products and Solutions

The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act 2019 (NDAA) is a United States federal law that came into effect on August 13, 2018. Amongst many provisions in this law, Section 889 outlines the prohibited use (procuring or using) of certain video surveillance, telecommunications services, equipment and components manufactured by specific manufacturers for federal agencies, and their contractors.

In simple terms, this means federal agencies are prevented from deploying cameras manufactured by any of the blacklisted companies.

With headquarters in South Korea and manufacturing facilities located in Vietnam and South Korea, Hanwha Techwin supports NDAA-compliance across its product line and is committed to complying with all government and international trade regulations.

Our full suite of compliant devices is currently used in many governments, defence and commercial applications. Hanwha Techwin is committed to providing leading cyber-secure products and is one of the very few manufacturers within the video surveillance industry to have achieved the UL CAP* certification for our Wisenet 7 chipset cameras.

*Certification program run by UL (Global leader in Safety Science), assessing potential cyber-security issues and the level of risk from hackers (network-connectable hardware devices and software).
