Mike White
Mike has over 26 years’ experience working in the UK private security industry, latterly as Head of Risk, Compliance & Assurance (UK and Ireland) for one of the UK’s largest security businesses. He currently leads the team at the Security Industry Authority (SIA) designing the Business Approval Scheme, the successor to the Approved Contractor Scheme.
Mike has extensive and detailed knowledge and understanding of the private security industry regulations, standards and certification requirements in multiple jurisdictions across a number of regulated sectors (e.g. aviation security, nuclear security and UK Government security contracts) and extensive experience managing the implementation of and operational compliance to international standards including ISO’s 9001, 14011, 27001 and 45001, as well as the range of British Standards applicable to the security industry.
He’s operated across a series of complex security environments helping to deliver integrated security solutions to UK Government departments, elements of critical national infrastructure, FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 businesses (nationally, regionally and globally), at national and international events and at major, iconic sporting and entertainment venues.
Mike is a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management, a member of the Security Institute and a Freeman of the City of London.
