It is important to me because it fundamentally affects over half the UK population and the UK economy. The vast majority of roles in industry are not gender specific. So at a time when we have serious skill shortages, why are women structurally excluded? And at the micro level, why must a woman constantly face negativity and challenges that men do not face. It is social injustice on a massive scale. If I can assist in righting this wrong, then I believe I can look my daughter in the face and say 'I did my best'.
