Dr Mark Wherrett CEng MIET CTSP
Mark is a chartered engineer and has been active in video surveillance product research, development and deployment for the last 37 years. Mark’s PhD research project, which he began in 1991, resulted in an innovation prize winning people counting, tracking and reporting system deploying video analytics and artificial intelligence.
He performed senior product design, product management and general management roles for Molynx, Bewator, Dedicated Micros, Synectics and Raytec. As a member of the British Security Industry Association’s video surveillance technical group Mark developed codes of practice and standards for video surveillance systems.
In 2016 Mark formed MEWtec Ltd, his own technical services consultancy specialising in electronic security and smart connected technology for managing and monitoring buildings and personnel. Mark works as a tutor for Tavcom developing and delivering training. He also trains and assesses technical security professionals on behalf of a regulatory agency in the Middle East.
