Our Standards. On Your Government Card: OSS and Its Members at The Security Event 2026
The Security Event 2026 (TSE 26) takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 28–30 April 2026. The event brings together the global security industry for three days of discussion, innovation, and collaboration. Manufacturers, installers, consultants, and end users come together to explore the latest developments in security and access control.
This year, the Open Security Standards Association (OSS) will be exhibiting at Stand 5/L05, focusing on open standards, cooperation, and Freedom of Choice. The OSS is a non-profit organisation that helps access control companies work together through shared standards. These standards allow different systems to communicate, giving customers more flexibility and long-term security.
The key message for 2026 is “Our standards. On Your Government Card.” OSS members are working together to support secure, standardised use of government-issued cards within access control systems. This approach helps reduce dependency on single suppliers, improves interoperability, and supports trusted identification across different environments.
At TSE 26, OSS and its members will demonstrate how open standards create real choice for manufacturers, integrators, and end users alike.
