Made in Britain brings together British security industry innovators for panel discussion at The Security Event on 25th April

Made In BritainMade in Britain is organising and hosting a panel session at the UK’s number 1 commercial, enterprise and domestic security show The Security Event, being held on 25th-26th April 2023 at the Birmingham NEC.

The panel, which will take place at 1pm on Tuesday 25th April, will focus on some of the latest innovations in the £6 billion British physical security industry. The session will be moderated by Made in Britain CEO John Pearce, together with two speakers selected from Made in Britain’s community of members in the security industry:

"We are thrilled to have Made in Britain involved in this year’s event. Championing the innovation, expertise and export potential of the British security industry is core to the ethos of our event. I have no doubt that this panel will inspire and educate our audience,” said Tristan Norman, Group Director (Safety and Security Series) at Nineteen Group.

Made in Britain CEO John Pearce said: “It’s a pleasure to bring members of our thriving community of Made in Britain manufacturers to The Security Event for the first time this year. Both our speakers, Jon Trott of Cova and Ashley Smith of Tensor, are at the forefront of UK security industry innovation and have fantastic insight to share.”

This event comes as the UK security sector goes through a period of transformation with Martyn’s Law coming into force to make public venues safer following the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing.

"In physical security, we are having to adapt and innovate to ensure risk owners have the tools at their disposal to protect people in public settings, settings we would not have been able to offer security solutions for in the past. As such I believe it is an exciting time for the security sector, where the UK will lead the way in protecting open spaces through temporary and permanent security solutions,” said Jon Trott, Managing Director, Cova Security Gates.

Ashley Smith, Chief Executive at Tensor plc said: “British manufacturing skill and creativity is very important for the UK as a world-leading innovation hub. It is vital to the UK economy that this vitality continues.”

Made in Britain brings together the British manufacturing community, united by the licensed use of the official collective mark, which certifies member companies as trusted businesses that have met stringent criteria set to guarantee they are truly British manufacturers. Members receive ongoing support across sales, marketing, export and PR, and also feature in a searchable product directory used by consumers and procurement professionals to source British-made products.
